Itineraries

Day 1

VERONA

Transfer from the airport to your hotel. In the evening, you are in for a treat: the chance to enjoy La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi at the stunning Arena di Verona. Transfers from the hotel to the Arena and back are included in your package.

Day 2

VERONA

Enjoy a slow start to your day. Later in the morning, our local guide will meet you at the hotel and escort you on a private 2-hour walking tour of the city during which you’ll see Roman ruins, medieval vestiges, and Venetian and Austrian influences all across the city of Verona, along with wonderful antique palaces, squares, bridges, and churches. In the city’s historical centre, you will visit a number of incredible spots: Piazza Bra, the Arena, Piazza Erbe, Piazza dei Signori, Via Cappello, Corso Porta Borsari, the Teatro Romano, Ponte Pietra, Castelvecchio, the Ponte Scaligero, the ancient churches of San Fermo and Sant’ Anastasia, the Duomo and San Zeno. Elegant cafes, ancient osterie (typical inns of the Veneto territory), artisan shops and high couture shops also enliven the city all year long. Verona is a man-sized city that fascinates visitors with its elegance and welcoming atmosphere, where ancient and modern times meet. The city’s centuries-long history and past splendour is evident in its architectural and artistic masterpieces, which are renowned on a national and international level. For this reason, Verona was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2000. The rest of the day is spent at your leisure.

Day 3

FROM VERONA TO VENICE

Check out from your hotel after breakfast and transfer to the train station where you will embark on a 1-hour high-speed train ride to Venice. Upon arrival in Venice, you will meet our local guide for an orientation tour of this unique city and take a ride to your hotel via water taxi. In the evening, you will be at the Scuola Grande di San Teodoro where I Musici Veneziani performs in the famous and exciting “The Four Seasons” by Antonio Vivaldi: four concerts for violin and strings representing scenes of nature in music, each inspired by the seasons of the year.

Day 4

VENICE

This day is spent at your leisure. Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower, which offers views of the city’s signature red roofs.

Day 5

FROM VENICE TO TUSCANY

After breakfast, transfer to the station and hop on the high-speed train to Florence. Enjoy the ride through the flat land of Pianura Padana shaped by the Po River, and through the Appennini Mountains. Upon arrival in Florence, meet our private driver for a transfer to your hotel in the town of Volterra.

Day 6

TUSCANY

After breakfast, meet our local guide at your hotel for a 2-hour guided tour of Volterra. This town’s well-preserved medieval ramparts give the windswept town a proud and forbidding air that Twilight author Stephanie Meyer deemed ideal for the principal vampire coven in her wildly popular series. Fortunately, the town is actually very welcoming, and you can wander through the winding cobbled streets while you spend the afternoon and evening at your leisure. Perhaps also enjoy one of the local restaurants suggested to you by Antonio and his team in your departure package.

Day 7

TUSCANY

The morning and afternoon are spent at your leisure. In the evening, you will be enchanted by Andrea Bocelli’s highly-anticipated concert, performed right in his hometown of Lajatico, Tuscany. Transfers from hotel to concert and back are included in your package.

Day 8

TUSCANY

The day is spent at your leisure.

Day 9

DEPARTURE DAY

Check out after breakfast, meet your private driver at the hotel and transfer to Florence airport or train station.
