VERONA

Enjoy a slow start to your day. Later in the morning, our local guide will meet you at the hotel and escort you on a private 2-hour walking tour of the city during which you’ll see Roman ruins, medieval vestiges, and Venetian and Austrian influences all across the city of Verona, along with wonderful antique palaces, squares, bridges, and churches. In the city’s historical centre, you will visit a number of incredible spots: Piazza Bra, the Arena, Piazza Erbe, Piazza dei Signori, Via Cappello, Corso Porta Borsari, the Teatro Romano, Ponte Pietra, Castelvecchio, the Ponte Scaligero, the ancient churches of San Fermo and Sant’ Anastasia, the Duomo and San Zeno. Elegant cafes, ancient osterie (typical inns of the Veneto territory), artisan shops and high couture shops also enliven the city all year long. Verona was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2000.

Check out from your hotel after breakfast and transfer to the train station where you will embark on a 1-hour high-speed train ride to Venice. In the evening, you will be at the Scuola Grande di San Teodoro for a performance in the famous and exciting “The Four Seasons” by Antonio Vivaldi: four concerts for violin and strings representing scenes of nature in music, each inspired by the seasons of the year.

Day 4

VENICE

This day is spent at your leisure. Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower, which offers views of the city’s signature red roofs.

Day 5

FROM VENICE TO TUSCANY

After breakfast, transfer to the station and hop on the high-speed train to Florence. Enjoy the ride through the flat land of Pianura Padana shaped by the Po River, and through the Appennini Mountains.
