I am delighted you chose Italy to travel next Fall! Finally things will be moving soon and we can all safely go back to dream and start putting together a travel plan.

September/October are great months to travel to Italy. Warm weather and you get the best from the harvest season. If you can, I suggest you to go in October, although, consider that days will start to be shorter.

I am excited to put together a travel plan for you! If you have 7 to 8 days in total, it is hard to visit all the locations listed in your request.
Perhaps you could eliminate Sardinia (although painful… such a beautiful island!).
You could concentrate on the coast of Mare Tirreno (Tyrrhenian Sea) from the Monte Argentario to Orbetello, to Gaeta, to Sorrento and of course, the Amalfi coast.

Option 1: If you find a good flight, I suggest to land in Florence and drive through Tuscany working your way south. A word on transportation for your travel plan: high-speed trains runs only between cities, so if you want to explore the coast with those less touristic coastal villages I mentioned above, it must be done either with a private car and driver or with a rental car.

Option 2 (non-driving option): Divide your travel plan into two parts: 4 days in Florence, from where you can explore Tuscany by taking one of our organized excursions departing from Florence. Next day set off to explore coastal Liguria and Cinque Terre, with a private car and driver that we could arrange. Then take the high-speed train to Naples and reach Sorrento, the gateway to the Amalfi coast where you can stay for the rest of your available time. From here, explore Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Paestum and much more!

Option 3 (also a non-driving option): add 2-3 more days to your vacation so you could add Sardegna! (The island of Sardinia). We can book you on the overnight ferry with private cabin and private head. Stay and visit this incredible (but big!) island for at least 3-4 days. Total number of nights in this case: 10 (4 Florence, 3 Sorrento, 3 Sardinia)

This is just an idea and a starting point for your travel plan. Please know that we can discuss every detail in order to meet your travel needs and budget. I would love to start planning this!
