After devouring our cannoli, we jumped back on the bus with Catania in our sights.  We arrived in downtown Catania and checked into to the lovely Hotel Una.  What makes this hotel particularly special is its rooftop terrace where one can sit and watch Etna sputter and churn – it’s a fantastic show!

Antonio found a fabulous seafood restaurant with gorgeous fresh fish.  Here we enjoyed a fantastic and delicious mix of local Sicilian dishes. Needless to say we also enjoyed some local wines! Insolia was the first wine and is named after the grape.  It is a fresh white that paired beautifully with our antipasti.

Next wine up was Frabianco, made with Frappato – a red grape whose skins are removed in order to produce a white wine with a slight pink hue.  It was lovely!  Once again, we left the restaurant fat and happy!
