After our visit at the Saline, we sat for lunch at the nearby restaurant and enjoyed the wonderful view of the windmill and Saline and the warm Mediterranean breeze. For lunch, half the table ordered a fish couscous and the other ordered shrimp pasta garnished with “bottarga” or dried fish roe. It was delicious! The bottarga was like salty breadcrumbs that added a lovely crunch to the dish. After lunch some of us “needed” gelato and other wonderful sweet stuff. What a wonderful way to spend a few hours in the hot Sicilian afternoon!
