Born and raised in Rome, Antonio Mauriello has spent over two decades sharing his love for Italy with travellers from around the world. After beginning his career as a software designer in the air traffic control industry, his passion for exploring Europe and his deep-rooted Italian heritage inspired a major shift—one that eventually led him to Canada, where he founded Savour Italy Tours in 2004. What began as casual vineyard visits with friends quickly evolved into expertly curated wine and culinary adventures through Italy’s most captivating and lesser-known regions.
A certified sommelier through the prestigious Associazione Italiana Sommelier in Rome and a TICO-certified travel consultant, Antonio brings a rare combination of technical expertise, cultural insight, and heartfelt hospitality. He has also shared his knowledge as a food and wine instructor at Algonquin College’s School of Hospitality in Ottawa, helping others deepen their appreciation of Italy’s diverse culinary landscape. Whether leading group tours or designing personalized itineraries, Antonio’s goal is always to create meaningful, immersive experiences for each guest.
Antonio’s extensive travel throughout the Italian peninsula – combined with his understanding of North American preferences – makes him a trusted advisor for anyone seeking an authentic Italian journey. As a passionate public speaker and storyteller, he thrives on connecting people with the traditions, flavours, and hidden gems of his homeland. From the vineyards of Piedmont to the coastal villages of Puglia, Antonio will ensure every journey with Savour Italy Tours is thoughtful, enriching, and unforgettable.
